Mayor Myra Budgell signing the Volunteer Week 2026 Proclamation . Volunteer Week runs from April 19-25, 2026 and celebrates volunteers across Newfoundland and Labrador. This week is set aside each year to recognize and thank volunteers for the time and energy they contribute to causes that benefit our communities. It is also an opportunity to promote the benefits of volunteering to individuals and society. -“Ignite Volunteerism” is this years theme. Ignite Volunteerism is a year-long effort to elevate the role of civic participation, rebuild volunteer infrastructure, and celebrate volunteer stories.
