A messege from Mayor Myra Budgell:

Recent comments circulating on Facebook have prompted me to provide some clarification.

The agreements brought forward for approval at the February 11th Council meeting were previously discussed during a closed session, as they form part of ongoing negotiations. Matters of this nature are required to be addressed in closed meetings, which means they cannot be discussed publicly at this time. The approvals granted on February 11th were related to the language of the agreements only.

I encourage everyone to think critically about the information being shared, particularly when it does not come directly from a member of Council or official Town communication. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.

Most of Council is new to these roles, and we are working diligently to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to us. We ran on a promise of transparency and remain committed to sharing information when we are legally and appropriately able to do so.

Misinformation can spread quickly on social media. I encourage residents to seek verified information and avoid drawing conclusions based on assumptions.
