Wind to Hydrogen Project Updates 2025/04/29

Below are some recent developments associated with the Wind to Hydrogen project which the town would like to share with its residents.

Over the past few months EVREC has installed three MET (Meteorological) towers. These are essential structures in wind farm development, which are used to measure wind speed, direction, and other meteorological data at a potential site. This data is crucial for assessing a site’s wind energy potential, designing wind turbines, and ensuring the efficient operation of a wind farm.

These three towers are over 300ft high & are located at South Twin Lakes, New Bay Lake & Crow Valley (end of Glen Peyton’s Rd).

The proponent confirmed two weeks ago that they have paid the provincial government fees for the leasing of the nominated lands for the wind turbines which indicates a significant commitment and step forward in the advancement of this project.

Landmark Surveys are actively performing preliminary field surveys to assist with the layout of the wind farm design.
